Where these figures come from
Open tenders are the approaches to market Home Affairs has published on AusTender (opens in a new tab) that have not closed. Contracts are the contract notices published on AusTender in the last twelve months, at their published total value including GST. A contract counts as ICT when its category is software, hardware, managed services, data or ICT advice.
The rules federal tenders follow
The Commonwealth Procurement Rules (opens in a new tab) (17 November 2025) require relevant entities to use AusTender to publish open tenders (paragraph 7.10). For non-corporate Commonwealth entities the procurement threshold is $125,000, and $7.5 million for construction services (paragraph 9.7). An open tender must stay open for at least 25 days from publication (paragraph 10.22), and can be shorter, but no less than 10 days, only in the cases paragraph 10.24 sets out.
A tender can set conditions for participation, the minimum a supplier must show to take part, and only submissions that meet the minimum content and format requirements are considered further (paragraph 10.34). Reading those two parts first is the quickest way to know whether a tender is worth the effort.
What Worthabid does with them
Worthabid reads each new tender against what your business does and marks it Pursue, Consider or No bid, with the reason in plain words. Each weekday morning you get the ones worth a look. A keyword alert sends every notice that mentions your words. Worthabid sends the few that fit and says why the rest do not.
We check for new tenders every day. Federal and WA Government tenders, plus councils across Australia, with more sources added as they come on board. Every notice links back to the portal that published it, and the Sources page lists each one.
